A good excuse -

for not posting for a while

we will be going off the grid for a while as we are heading into the everglades to camp for a bit.

It is one of the few places the internet has not yet wormed its way into.
More will be revealed.

but it is available

Healing

There is something so transcendent about nature
with its amazements
and wonders
And for myself
I lose myself in the glory
of God whomever
and issues just seem to slip away.

So long as nature continues to astound me

How many times can you use the word equine in a sentence?
NO, today we were teased by a painted bunting.
Probably will make a good short story some day..;

for most of us a single sign is not enough

Do they really mean it?
Are there any exceptions?
Maybe one for me?

Well as best I can figure you get fined 500 dollars if you get et by a gator.
Not sure if the fine doubles if it gets your little dog too.
There is no mention of a family rate.
In any case, there is some added incentive here.
And I certainly will be careful.

Once upon a time

There was this very adventuresome and gullible fish who wanted to know what it was like above the surface of the water he viewed as a boundary which needed to be passed in order to fully experience the world. As it so happened a pelican was passing near by and offered him a chance to see the world.

The fish was excited, and like many of us, did not think of all of the ramifications of the offer and with a flick of his tail swam into the waiting beak which then obligingly lifted him into the other world.

What a vision awaited him, but before he could even ask the first of a thousand questions - the pelican cautioned him about getting too much sun. I have a nice shady place for you, he said and the gullible fish said "Wow, thank you," but immediately thought, what if there is a catch to this?

There are days when you can't help but be grateful

And today is one of them. Have regained internet which may or may not be a good thing. in any case will use the opportunity to share a photo or three.
while writing this at ten in the morning shared the table with a guy who was having a couple of beers while avoiding yoga class it made sense in a Florida keys kind of way. And delivered another blast of gratitude.

More is being revealed - though I am staring to think you have to slow down to be able to receive the message - unless the message is in the form of a brick wall in which case speed is of the essence.

Boys will be boys

We have delayed our camping adventure for a day to allow a front to pass through figuring severe thunderstorms are not the best way to break in a new tent. This allowed us to check out a new birding site in which an egret went wild performing for us. Internet access is maybe going to get a little less easy but be assured we will post when we can

Gathering material is going to be a lot of fun

Until I got away did not realize how much I needed to step back
All is well - I am always amazed at the size of this country.
But even more amazing is the wildlife which is out there ready to ham it up.
